About this policy
This policy explains what personal information is collected through this website, why it is collected, how it is protected, and what rights you have. It is written to meet Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25, and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Who is responsible for your information
Bridget Gervasi Design, based in Montreal, Quebec, is responsible for the personal information collected through this site. Bridget Gervasi acts as the person in charge of the protection of personal information and can be reached at info@bridgetgervasi.ca for any privacy question, request, or complaint.
Information you give me
When you submit a consultation request, the following is collected: your name, email address, project type, desired timeline, neighbourhood or city, the language of the form, and any message you choose to write. Only these fields are collected, and only the name and email address are required. Please do not send sensitive information through the form.
Information collected automatically
If you consent to analytics, anonymous visit data is recorded: pages viewed, approximate location at the city or region level derived from your IP address, device and browser type, referring source, language, and time spent on a page. Your full IP address is not stored, and this data is not used to identify you or to build an advertising profile. If you refuse analytics, none of it is collected.
Cookies and local storage
Strictly necessary storage keeps the site working and remembers your language, and for the site owner only, an administrative session. Optional analytics storage places an anonymous visitor identifier in your browser. Nothing optional is stored until you agree through the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer, and clearing your browser storage removes these identifiers. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.
Why this information is collected
Consultation details are used to reply to your inquiry, prepare a proposal, and if you proceed with my services, to plan and manage your project and meet applicable accounting and record-keeping obligations. Analytics data is used only in aggregate to understand which pages are useful and to improve the website. Your information is not used for any other purpose without telling you first.
Consent and withdrawing it
You consent to the collection of the details you type into the consultation form by submitting it, and to analytics only by accepting it in the cookie banner. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to info@bridgetgervasi.ca or by changing your cookie preferences. Withdrawal does not affect a service already provided, and refusing analytics has no effect on your use of this site.
Service providers and information stored outside Quebec
This website is built and hosted on the Base44 platform, which stores form submissions and analytics records on its servers. If you choose to book a discovery call, that scheduling is handled by Calendly under its own privacy policy. City-level location is obtained through an IP lookup service, which receives your IP address for that single request and is not given your other details. Some of these providers may store or process information outside Quebec, including in the United States, where foreign authorities may in some circumstances access it. Before using them, their protection measures were assessed as adequate for the limited information involved, and they are bound by their own contractual and legal privacy obligations.
Sharing your information
Your personal information is never sold, rented, or traded. It is shared only with the service providers described above, with trades or suppliers when this is necessary to deliver your project and with your knowledge, or where the law requires disclosure.
How your information is protected
Access to form submissions and analytics records is limited to Bridget Gervasi through a password-protected administrative account. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on the hosting platform's secured infrastructure. Only the information needed for the purposes above is collected, and the privacy settings of this site are set to their most protective level by default.
How long it is kept
Consultation requests that do not lead to a project are kept for up to two years, then destroyed. Where a project proceeds, project and billing records are kept for the duration of our professional relationship and for the retention period required by Quebec and Canadian tax and civil law, generally up to seven years. Analytics records are kept for up to twenty-four months. Information is destroyed or anonymised once the purpose for collecting it is fulfilled.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information held about you, receive a copy of it in a structured, commonly used technological format, have it corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete, withdraw your consent, or ask that it be deleted or that a link to it cease to be disseminated where the law allows. You may also ask for the reasons and the sources behind the information held. Requests are answered within thirty days at no charge, and identity may be verified before information is released. No automated decisions or profiling
No decision about you is made exclusively by automated processing, and your information is not used for behavioural profiling, advertising targeting, or biometric identification.
Children
This site and its services are intended for adults. Information about a person under fourteen is not knowingly collected without parental consent, and will be deleted if brought to my attention.
Concerns and complaints
If you are not satisfied with how a request or concern was handled, you may contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec at cai.gouv.qc.ca, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the site or the applicable law changes. The date at the top reflects the most recent version, and any significant change will be reflected here before it takes effect.
